Trip Name: A half day at Tho Ha rice paper village
Type of trip: Private
Trip Duration: half a day
Destination: Hanoi, Vietnam
Trip Grading: Moderate walking
Flexibility: This sample itinerary can be amended accordingly to meet your expectation.
Highlight: Tho Ha is situated over 30 miles northeast of Hanoi, There are 700 families living in the village; 400 are involved with making rice paper. You will be amazed by the old architecture of this village some of the houses still keep the original construction of late 1800s.
8:30 Am, Asia Top Travel tour expert pick up you at your hotel, travel to Tho Ha village. Upon entering the village via a ferry across the Nhu Nguyet River, you see hundreds, no thousands of 1 x 6ft. bamboo grids each covered with sheets of rice paper. The grids are leaning against exterior walls, horizontal supports about 5ft high, and along passage ways. They are everywhere. People are moving the grids from one location to another as the gelatinous rice sheets dry out. No one is measuring moisture content with an electronic device; rather, it is all done by experienced eyes.
The village is geographically isolated, and a result, it offers a unique glimpse into rural life that you will not see elsewhere during your time in Viet Nam. Our tour expert will show you the village and interact with friendly local people.
We top-off the morning with a home hosted lunch at a friend of Asia Top Travel in Tho Ha.
Then return to Hanoi by 2:00 End of the trip.
