Destination: Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam
Trip Grading: Moderate walking

Highlights: Ho Chi Minh City, commonly known as Saigon is commercial and fast becoming the nation’s window to the world. Buzzing with frenetic activity, cosmopolitan Ho Chi Minh City looks outward, listens to jazz, and drinks French wine. Existing alongside the high-rise hotels, shopping malls, and chic restaurants are ancient pagodas and colonial buildings, recalling a checkered but vibrant past.
Today Ho Chi Minh City is very much the heart of Vietnamese business and entrepreneurs. And yet the city still retains its connections to the past, particularly in Cho Lon, its Chinatown. Here dozens of elegant temples and pagodas can be seen. The French also left their mark with some fine colonial-era buildings such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office
8.00 am meet Asia Top Travel tour expert at your hotel lobby, begin the exploration of Ho Chi Minh city, including the Reunification Palace that was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975. Then, continuing our trip visiting War Remnants Museum that is formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes. This is a poignant display the futility of war. Close to the museum, we go to visit Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office that are some of the best examples of French colonial architecture. Notre Dame Cathedral was built between 1877 and 1883, and the stones used to create it were exported in its entirety from France.
Next to the cathedral stands the Central Post Office that is the country’s largest post office was built since 1891. It is another fine example of French architecture and is Vietnam's largest post office. Have lunch in nice restaurant.
After lunch, we will visit Giac Lam Pagoda that is Saigon’s oldest and finest pagoda, dating back to 1744. Take continuing to lon that is well justified as Vietnam’s largest market. Then we visit Thien Hau temple. Before finishing our tour, there is a wide selection of goods at Ben Thanh Market - a bustling. The tour finishes at approximately 6pm when you will be transferred back to your hotel.
