 This tour features an educational journey, from Hanoi - the historic and colonial Capital to Ha Long Bay, famed for it’s beautiful landscapes (as seen in the film “Indochine”, starring Catherine Deneuve and Vincent Perez).  You will have the chance to journey from the peaceful, quiet beautifully preserved streets of old Hoi An and Hue to the busy avenues of Saigon. You will also have the chance to visit the very foundations of the revolution and some of the major historic sites of the Viet Nam War such as the Cu Chi Tunnels. You can also experience Vietnamese rural life on a tour of the Mekong delta, visiting its people and villages.

Day 1: Hanoi arrival
Upon arriving in Hanoi, our tour guide will personally meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is time at leisure.

8.30am, Asia Top Travel's tour guide will welcome you at your hotel lobby departing for an exciting city tour of Hanoi's significant highlights.
Morning, you will visit:
Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is the final resting place of Vietnamese Revolutionary leader President Ho Chi Minh (It is closed on Monday and Friday). 
Ba Dinh Square in front of the mausoleum is noteworthy as the site where President Ho Chi Minh declared the independence of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. 
Presidential Palace was constructed between 1900 - 1906 by French architect Auguste Henri Vildieu, was intended to be Ho Chi Minh’s official residence but he had opted for a traditional Vietnamese stilt-house instead. 
The humble traditional House-on-Stilts where president Ho Chi Minh lived intermittently from 1958 to 1969 is set in a well-tended garden adjacent to a carp-filled pond and has been preserved just as Uncle Ho left it. 
Temple of Literature was originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society place then and now on education.  
Lunch will be served at the local restaurant.
Afternoon, you will visit Museum of Ethnology is widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples. As well as the comprehensive array of exhibits inside, there are also traditional tribal houses reconstructed within the ground.
Ngoc Son Temple is located on a jade island on the Hoan Kiem Lake, its history dating back to the 13th century. The temple is reached by crossing the The Huc Bridge which literally means the ‘Place Touched by Morning Sunbeams’. The Hoan Kiem Lake is the local point of the city and the source of many legends.
45 minute - Cyclo Tour through the Old Quarter that is also known as the 36 streets. This bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Originally each of the 36s names’ was related to the products being sold there. It’s a great place to explore on foot with numerous photo opportunities.
Water Puppet Show, before heading back to your hotel, you will enjoy a traditional art performance at Thang Long Water Puppet Theartre.

Day 3: Hanoi - Ha Long (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver for a share bus to depart for Halong Bay. Going through the scenic countryside, we get to Ha Long Bay. The world heritage site Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights. Upon arrival at Ha Long, you will be welcomed by our local guide on board. Heading out of the town we embark on a chinese junk style for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay. This exciting hours cruise will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands and islets rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. Sea food lunch will be served while cruising through the bay.
The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches. You then explore the Surprising Sung Sot cave which still reserves much of the amazing original stalactites and stalagmites.

Day 4: Ha Long – Hanoi – fly to Hue (B)
Wake up in the morning to the calming sound of the waves crashing on the nearby islands. You enjoy a morning coffee and watch the world going by in the bay. Sitting on the upper deck and enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the bay. The quiet is almost eerie; we can hear birds singing, cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against our boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze. Our Junk starts cruising back while the brunch buffet will be served. Check out and arrive at harbor by 12:00 noon, we will drive back to Hanoi, heading to Noi Bai airport for your internal flight to Hue
Upon arrival in airport, our driver & tour guide will pick you up and transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Hue City tour (B/L)
This morning, we will board a dragon boat to cruise down the Perfume River to Thien Mu pagoda. Thien Mu pagoda is one of the best-loved pagodas in Vietnam and is considered by many to be the unofficial symbol of Hue.  It is an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601. We will visit the Imperial Citadel, the Forbidden City.

We then visit another pagoda for an elaborately prepared vegetarian lunch, which will be served by the nuns of the pagoda.  This gives a fascinating insight into the life of religious people in the area.  After lunch we visit the tomb and monument of King Tu Duc which is located in a very beautiful area. This is an opportunity to learn more about Nguyen Kings and to enjoy the spectacular landscape.
We return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Hue - Danang - Hoi An (B/L)
This morning we drive over the mighty Hai Van Pass and take in the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and famous Long Co fishing village.  On the way we visit the Cham Museum where the remaining evidence of the fascinating Champa civilization can be viewed. We then visit the Marble Mountain, which is a maze of caves and temples, hidden with five sacred marble rocks. Arrive at Hoi An, You enjoy a walking tour through the Old Quarter to visit Hoi An's significant highlights including Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient Chinese Assembly Hall - Phuc Kien Assembly Hall. Tan Ky Ancient House, Hoi An Traditional Handicraft Workshop, Hoi An market.

Day 7: Biking to Cam Thanh coconut village – Cooking class at Tra Que herb village
After being collected from your hotel, a short bicycle competency test will be given. For those uncomfortable with a pushbike, then other methods of transport can be arranged. The tour starts by cycling along level ground to the Thu Bon River to visit a local fishing village.
Ride along country lanes at a peaceful pace viewing local life and pause to see farmers toiling in their rice fields using centuries of farming practices. Peddle your way through palm forests, across bridges, fields of water buffalo....

9:00 Take a short break in a local family at Cam Thanh Village before enjoying 1.5 hours ride on Traditional Basket Boat (round boat) in the Water Coconut Palm Forest. Learn how to sail the basket boat and spend your time to catch fishes and “purple crabs” in the Canal.
10:30 Continue to drive to Tra Que Organic Vegetable Village where a large variety of vegetable are produced for the local community. At the village, you will be shown the environmentally sustainable practices which the local villagers have used for centuries and is still being used extensively today.
11:30 Visit a local family and after a short, informative and fun cooking lesson, we sit down for a delicious lunch.

Day 10: Saigon city tour - Cu Chi - Saigon - Sai Gon Jeep tour in the evening (B/L/D)
A full day tour to Cu Chi, located about 70 km from Saigon, where you will visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, the former stronghold of the Viet Cong with a network of tunnels three levels deep stretching over 200 km. Then return to Saigon for half day city tour includes the Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, and the Museum of History to see some interesting displays and photographs following the path of the revolution. Then visit the Reunification Palace for a glimpse into the lifestyle of the democratic regime of former South Vietnam.
6:30 Pm our guide and driver will pick up you at your hotel lobby for an exciting Jeep tour.
We’ll take you to different places to show you unusual faces of the city. Of course you will see the main avenues and monuments nicely lighted at night, but we will take you as well to other vibrant areas, animated streets, secrets places or up to date addresses of the night life.
On another hand, we make this extraordinary tour for you to enjoy an unexpected local gastronomic experience! For this offer, we will not take you in the major touristic areas of Saigon; instead, you will discover the favorite places where the locals, Saïgon inhabitants, like to go at night for a dinner with friends or relatives. In this place, you will be able to taste the real cuisine of the South.
After this dinner, you will be invited for a night city tour to admire the most magnificent French colonial monuments of the city that recently, the municipality of Saïgon have decided to light brilliantly at night (opera, former city-hall, post-office). Stops will be managed in front of those buildings for night-photos.
Then, we will drive you downtown to make you discover an unexpected night-bar in the sky, located on a superb terrace on top of a high building. From this point you’ll be able to admire a breathtaking view on the Saïgon sky-line with all its sky-scrapers brightly lighted and avenues full of traffic.
The trip will end by 10:30 to 11:00 Pm at your hotel’s lobby.

Day 11: Saigon – Ben Tre - Saigon – Dinner on cruise (B/L/D)
8.00am, meet our tour guide at your hotel lobby and we transfer through Mekong delta to Ben Tre.
The boat will cruise along the Ham Luong river (a branch of the Mekong) and stop off at various local workplaces to give you a picture of how the local economy works, including a brickworks, where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand;  a coconut processing workshop, where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products; and a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – you can even have a go at weaving yourself!
The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can have a short walk to experience real Delta village life, before boarding your xe loi (a kind of motorized rickshaw) and traveling into the forest where you can visit fruit orchards before stopping at a riverside restaurant for a delicious and filling lunch, featuring such local specialties as elephant-ear fish and river shrimp, washed down with some cold drinks or beers.
It’s time to board a sampan for a relaxing trip along narrow canals. Take boat back to Pier and go ahead to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. 
You will have free time for relax, changing clothes then gathering at 18.00pm for farewell dinner on cruise, passing Sai Gon River. It is a chance to enjoy the nightlife of this vibrant city.

Day 12: Saigon – fly to Sieam Reap
Free time at leisure until time to meet for transfer to the airport for your flight to Sieam Reap
Upon arrival at Siem Reap airport, the guide will meet and transfer you to hotel. Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate (with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk), Bayon Temple (the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. In the afternoon, visit the most famous of all the temples on the Angkor plain: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat's five towers symbolize Meru's five peaks, the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat symbolizes the ocean beyond Sunset from Phnom Bakheng, one of two hills dominating the plain of Angkor, from where you will have a spectacular view of the Western Baray and Angkor Wat.

Day 13: Siem Reap - Angkor Tours (B)
Early morning, we will visit the sunrise at Angkor Area – the idea is to view the reflection of amazing Angkor temple in the morning sun. Return to the hotel for breakfast. After that,  you will continue your temple visits. Included are Prasat Kravan (with its unique brick sculptures), Srah Srang ("The Royal Boths" was once used for ritual bathing), Banteay Kdei (surrounded by four concentric walls), Eastern Mebon (guarded at its corner by stone figures of harnessed elephants, some of which are still in a reasonable state of preservation) and the "Mountain Temple" of Pre Rup. In the afternoon, transfer to the archaeological site and continue to the temple tour. Visit Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful temples in the area. Ta Prohm has been left relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery, then, visit Takeo, Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda temples. We then enjoy the Sunset at Pre Rup temple. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 14: Visit Ton Le Sap Lake – departure (B)
Breakfast is at the hotel, we take wooden boat to visit the floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see fishermen, floating schools, floating police station, etc. It is same as a big village floating on the lake, and the village move from place to place following the water levers. Then transfer to airport for your departure flight.
