Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Upon arrival to Hanoi airport, after clearing custom, you will be warmly welcomed by Asia Top Travel tour expert, transferred to the hotel for check in, approximately a 45-minute drive from the airport.
The afternoon is at leisure to recover from the long trip.
Meet the group in the hotel lobby at 6:30 pm to walk to your welcome dinner. Tonight we have scheduled a special menu of Hanoi typical cuisines for your first taste of Hanoi. Enjoy a short walk to view Hanoi by night, return to hotel for leisure.

Day 2: Hanoi historical tour

Today features a full day visiting Hanoi’s highlights. Begin with a fascinating initiation into the bustle of modern Vietnam, with a cyclo (rickshaw) tour through the picturesque streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Continue with a visit to the famous monument of Emperor Ly Thai To, who made an incredible historic decision to move capital to its location of Hanoi today.
Enjoy a walk along the legendary Restored Sword Lake
Visit the Red Bridge and Ngoc Son temple
Meet and speak with a local professor at the ancient Temple of Literature, the seat of Vietnam’s first university. The temple was built in 1070. Touring the temple complex with your tour expert to have a deep understanding of Confucianism and the history.
Visit Craft Link a not for profit shop, selling significant handicraft products made by different local ethnic groups.
Lunch today is specially prepared at a popular local restaurant Know One Teach One – Good food for a great cause.
Afternoon, enjoy a short drive out of the city to the outskirt to the village that is considered as the cradle of Water Puppet Master. Attend a private Water Puppet performance, a northern Vietnamese folk tradition, and meet with the artisans who create the puppets.
Walk around to visit the rural village, visit a Communal House, where worship the deity of the whole village, have a taste of some typical local foods and call at a home for a visit and interaction for better understanding the daily life of local people.
Return to hotel in the late afternoon. You are at leisure. Dinner tonight is on your own arrangement.

We have scheduled a special home hosted lunch at a local Hanoi family. Our host today is an award winning chief who features on local TV show annually by Tet festival to introduce traditional cooking art.
Continue to the remarkable Museum of Ethnology to examine the crafts, textiles, and traditions of Vietnam’s diverse ethnic groups and hill tribes.
Afternoon special activity— visit to 54 Traditions Gallery; enjoy an informed tour of the great ethnic craft collection.

Day 4: Hanoi - Hue

Meet our guide and driver to transfer to Noi Bai airport for boarding the morning flight to Hue. Upon arrival, being welcomed by Asia Top Travel driver, transferred to Hue city.

Afternoon, tour the ancient Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, temples of Nguyen emperors.
Enjoy a private visit to the home and studio of lacquer artist.
Evening, enjoy dinner in the private home of the researcher on Hue, a friend of Asia Top Travel. Also see his collection of relics from royal Hue, and learn about Hue through the interaction with the researcher on Hue

Day 5: Hue city full day
Breakfast is at the hotel.
Cruise the Perfume River on a boat, and visit tranquil Thien Mu Pagoda, an operating Buddhist monastery and the cultural symbol of Hue.
Continue the cruise to explore the tombs of Hue’s former emperors, including the serene pavilions of Tu Duc.
Enjoy a special vegetarian luncheon in a Buddhist nunnery, prepared by nuns.
Afternoon, visit the extravagant glass and ceramic mosaics decorating the mausoleum of Khai Dinh, a masterpiece of Vietnamese artisans
Visit a local family who makes traditional Conical hats, and incenses.

Day 6: Hue - Danang / Hoi An

Depart via motorcoach for Danang, approximately a two and a half -hour drive.

After noon, visit the Cham Museum in Danang, accompanied by a Vietnamese history scholar.
Visit a marble stone carving workshop at the famous marble mountain village.
Continue to Hoi An via motorcoach, approximately a one-hour drive.
Check into your hotel.
Later afternoon re-group and enjoy a drive into the Old Quarter of Hoi An, visit a traditional handicraft workshop, and if you wish to have your wardrobe made, here is the chance. Hoi An is a famous place for tailor, great quality with good price.
Enjoy an independent dinner and return to hotel.

Day 7: Hoi An

Attend a lecture with a city official to learn about UNESCO-driven preservation efforts in Hoi An.

Day 8: Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

Transfer to Danang for the morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
Drive through the Vietnamese countryside to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a system of underground tunnels once used by the Viet Cong to withstand attacks throughout the Vietnam War. Tour the tunnels with a former Viet Cong soldier.
Have lunch at a local restaurant, transferred to downtown Ho Chi Minh city.

Afternoon sight-seeing in Ho Chi Minh City.
Tour the city by motor coach, and see Reunification Palace, the Central Post Office, and Notre Dame Cathedral.
