Ha Long is prepared to greet tourists again following Yagi Typhoon

After enduring the effects of Yagi Typhoon, Ha Long Bay will officially reopen to tourist boats on Friday, marking a significant recovery for the city's tourism industry after nearly a week of disruption.
Known for its scenic bay, Ha Long is gradually returning to normal, with tourism rebounding swiftly. The city’s recovery efforts have been highly effective, with residents and authorities collaborating to clean up and restore urban areas.
Life in the city is steadily normalizing. In preparation for reopening, tourist boat operators in Ha Long Bay have concentrated on maintenance and safety inspections to ensure their vessels are fully operational.
Almost all 180 tourist boats are ready to welcome visitors again, following the Quảng Ninh province’s approval to resume operations. Despite the challenges faced, he is optimistic that tourism numbers will soon return to previous levels. Tourism-related businesses across Ha Long have been steadily working to restore their facilities and workforce in preparation for the anticipated influx of visitors.
Following the storm, several tourist groups, including international travelers, have started arriving in Ha Long. On Tuesday, after a brief suspension due to Yagi Typhoon, Ha Long International Cruise Port resumed operations, welcoming international tourists eager to explore the UNESCO-recognized bay.

Nearly 70 boats carrying over 1,500 passengers from countries like China and South Korea traveled from Hà Nội to Ha Long. However, tourist activities at the port were temporarily paused again on Wednesday for safety inspections.
Nguyễn Thái Hưng, general director of Sai Gon - Ha Long Hotel, noted that tourists, particularly international ones, showed deep empathy for the storm's impact. Despite their concerns, safety remained a top priority, and the hotel promptly took all necessary measures to ensure guests' comfort and security.
On Thursday, the Ha Long City Party Committee convened with local business representatives, including those from the tourism sector, to discuss solutions for overcoming recovery challenges. These included tax adjustments, debt rescheduling, interest rate reductions, and continued access to loans to support business recovery in line with current regulations.
