Day 01

Luang Prabang Arrival

Set off your trip in the ancient capital of Luang Prabang Province

Day 02

Luang Prabang - Kuang Sy Falls

Start today by visiting the morning market, a perfect place to meet the locals, dine on Lao food, and watch the people as they wander. Grab yourself a frosty bevy and a slice of blood sausage and check it out.
Enjoy a short drive to visit Vat Xieng Thong or Temple of the Royal City- one of the most important of Lao monasteries and remains a significant monument to the spirit of religion, royalty and traditional art.
Afterwards, we head to Kuang Sy Falls a stunning turquoise waterfall. On the way, you will pass through rice fields and beautiful small villages dotted along country road. Make a stop at some of the villages before relaxing at the waterfall. Take a fresh swim to refresh yourself in many basins.
In the afternoon, we transfer back Luang Prabang and visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre located in a historical building preserved by UNESCO. The exhibition here consists of traditional clothing, religious artifacts and daily working tools of Lao minorities that will help you understand more about their lifestyle and traditions.
Then it’s time for sunset moment on the Phousi Mountain where you also can have a nice panorama of the city.
Leaving here, one the way back to hotel, we will stop to visit the H’mong Night Market where you can find a lot of souvenirs in traditional style of Laos. This is also a paradise for street food lover, and you can have dinner on your own. Our guide will suggest you a good place to enjoy Laos traditional food or hot pot on a nice restaurant at the river bank.  Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 03

Luang Prabang City Tour - Pak Ou Cave

Today set off your exploration with a visit to the Royal Palace also known as the National Museum to learn more about the long-lasting history and culture of the region.
Afterwards, pay a visit to Wat Mai, a beautiful temple located nearby Royal Palace and built in the 18th century. It is the largest and most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang.
Afterwards, transfer to the pier and take a long-tailed boat for an upstream cruise. During the cruise, you will be treated a stunning of nature along the river. From the distance you can see limestone cliffs where the hidden Pak Ou Caves are located. The cave is home to thousands of Buddha statues which make the region a revered one. Take your time to explore numerous images hidden in the cave.
Then, make your way back to the city. En-route, stop to visit Ban Xang Hai village to learn more about the making process of the traditional Lao rice whisky. It is a great chance to taste its unique flavor. Move onto Ban Xang Khong village- famous for its wood paper and Lao silk weaving.

Day 04

Luang Pranbang - Xieng Khuang

Leaving Luang Prabang for Xieng Khuang and the mysterious Plain of Jars

Today we will leave Luang Prabang for Xieng Khouang (306 km – about 5h drive), associated with the historic war between 1964 and 1973.
Then we transfer to the Plain of Jars, the home of giant stone jars dated back at least 2000 years.  
The plain contains thousands of big and small jars, the biggest one is 2.5m in diameter and weigh tens of tons. The others are in numerous different shapes, sizes and no one is alike. Most of them have no lid except one. Specially, its lid was carved with strange patterns which no expert can explain. 
There are many mysterious stories behind this famous destination. Some people say it used to be the accommodation of giants but some others consider it a historic cemetery and each jar is a funeral urn. 
Transfer back to your hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel. 
 
Day 05

Xieng Khuang - Vang Vieng

Moving to Vang Vieng

Waking up early in the tranquil ambiance in Xieng Khouang, we enjoy breakfast and visit the Central Market of Phonsavanh where you can see many different hill tribe people and their daily activities. 
Continue the departure towards Vang Vieng (218 km – about 5h drive) - a riverside town in Central Laos. It is surrounded by splendid karst scenery and overflowing with activities such as caving and tubing down the river. 
When you arrive at Vang Vieng, visit Tham Chang cave - one of the most important caves of Vang Vieng. It is situated on the Southern side of Vang Vieng. Tham Chang (or Jang) became the home for migrating people, who settled near the town’s southern Meuang Xong Village to rise vegetables. At the foot of the cave crystal clear water runs out of the mountain into the river. From this cave, you can see beautiful views of the village and rice fields. After admire charming sight of the cave, transfer to your hotel with remainder of day free at your leisure.

Day 06

Vang Vieng Surroundings

Discover Vang Vieng- a riverside town in Central Laos

In the morning, you will transfer by car to Ban Pha Thao - about 15 km from North of Vang Vieng. From here, you will start your 2 hours hike and make 2 stops to visit 2 caves. The first stop is Tham Hoi cave (also known as Snail cave). The entrance to Tham Hoi is guarded by a large Buddha figure. The cave is said to be some four kilometers long. The next stop is Tham Xang cave (also known as Elephant cave). Located in a scenic karst area to the northeast of Thakaek, Tham Xang is one of many famous caves known for its remarkable limestone formation. The area surrounding offers beautiful scenery and from the view of the top of the cave entrance you can see the stretching Mekong River. Then, you will continue your trip to Lao Loum village- where you will take a vehicle to the town.
In the afternoon, you will ride a bicycle to the Blue Lagoon through Ban Tai Nguen Nathong. You could also visit a village weaving Lao Loum and H 'mong, Nathong Tai- where you can take a glimpse of daily life of the locals as well as their lifestyle. Blue Lagoon might be crowded these days, but this is a great spot to relax and cool off, especially as a reward after a hot sweaty bike ride on bone jarring dirt road.
At the Blue Lagoon you can also visit Tham Poukham or “Cave of the Golden Crab,” named because a few of the stalactites and stalgmites look like golden crabs. The entrance requires a steep, slippery climb up a trail before the cave dives 100 metres into the ground, through a narrow entrance and opening up into the first chamber which is well lit and contains a bronze reclining Buddha illuminated by a ray of sunlight.

Day 07

Vang Vieng - Vientiane Sightseeing

Leaving for Vientiane Capital

In the morning time, we will transfer to Vientiane – the capital of Laos. Once arrival, take a short rest and we will start the city tour with: 
Vat Sisaket: which is famous for not only its cloister wall storing thousands of tiny Buddha images but also its beautiful architecture and layout with history dated back to 1818.
Vat PhraKeo: which was built in 1565 is one of the most impressive and interesting temples in Vientiane. It previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha image.
Pha That Louang (built 1566, reconstructed 1930). It is the most important Laotian religious and national monument. The temple has a unique architecture reflecting Lao culture and identity, becoming a symbol of Lao nationalism. 
Patuxay: the memorial monument –was built in 1957 and is the most prominent landmark in the city. The architecture of the monument was inspired by the architecture of Triomphe in Paris and combined with typical Lao motifs. From the top of the monument, you can see an excellent panoramic view of the city.

Day 08

Vientiane - Pakse - Wat Phou - 4000 Islands

The day is devoted for a sightseeing of Vientiane especially Buddha Park

This morning, you will be transferred to the airport to take a morning flight from Vientiane to Pakse (without tour guide). 
Once arrival in Pakse, you will be warmly welcomed by our tour guide and driver. Then, make your way to visit Vat Phou Temple. Recorded on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Wat Phou is a stunning pre-angkorian temple built upon three levels. 
In the afternoon, you have some time to explore Ou Mong Ruins before driving to Nakasong and enjoy a boat trip along Mekong River to the most bustling and hustling island of Si Phan Done area – Done Det, on the way you can see children of Mekong playing under water or the fishermen in their daily lives. 
The balance of the day will be free on your own. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 09

4000 Islands

A full day devotes for 4000 islands

Today is devoted to explore the Don Det and Don Khone, two smaller islands which are considered the heaven of backpacker. 
Take a tuk tuk to visit these two islands, which are linked by a bridge. Visit Ban Khone fishing village - where you could explore the ruins of French railway tracks and the beautiful Liphi Waterfall. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere in the islands and take awesome photos of the local life and natural beauty. 
In the afternoon, we embark the motor boat again to visit Cambodian border where the famous Irrawaddy dolphins live. If you are lucky, you can see them playing and swim on the river. 
Transfer back your hotel with remainder of day free at leisure. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 10

4000 Islands - Khone Papheng - Bolaven

Head to the 4000 Islands

Enjoy your last minutes in 4000 islands, enjoy the sunrise before leaving Si Phan Don for a drive to Khone Papheng - one of the most significant attractions of the 4000 islands. This 10 kilometer waterfall becomes the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia and considered the jewel of Laos.
Continue your drive to Bolaven which is green all year round and cooler than the rest of Laos with many tea and coffee plantation. Surrounding the plateau there are some famous protected national parks, magnificent waterfalls, ethnic villages and dense jungle, therefore it offers a great airy atmosphere and dramatic landscape.
It is also a great place to learn more about the rich culture of various ethnic groups such as Laven, Alak, Katou, Ta-Oy, Houne, Ngai and Suk.
Upon reaching Bolaven, enjoy your lodge or pay a visit to some local villages to get an insight into their traditional lifestyles.

Day 11

Bolaven waterfalls - Pakse

Breakfast at the resort, then we will continue our journey to the most beautiful waterfalls in the region: Tad Yeuang, Tad Phasoum and Tad Fan. The deeply fall in the colorful forest of Phousavan. 
Then we will transfer to Pakse, on the way take a stroll through Dao Heaung market for a look at its specialty. This is one of the most interesting place in Pakse where you can immerse in local life.

Day 12

Pakse - Departure
