Day 01

Hanoi Arrival

Day 02

Hanoi Sightseeing Full Day

A full day sightseeing today brings you to the most attractive places of Hanoi capital

08:30: Our tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby. We will visit Hanoi with Ho Chi Minh Complex that completed in 1975. The complex includes the Presidential Palace, House-on-Stilts, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and One Pillar pagoda. After that we will visit Temple of Literature that was originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society place then and now on education. 
 
Have lunch at a nice local restaurant.
 
After lunch, we continue our trip to visit Museum of Ethnology: This museum is widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to 54 Ethnic groups of Vietnam. As well as the comprehensive array of exhibits inside, there are also traditional tribal houses reconstructed within the ground. 

Then, we back to the center of Hanoi to visit Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake: Ngoc Son temple is set on a tiny island on Hoan Kiem Lake, its history dating back to the 13th century. The temple is reached by crossing The Huc Bridge which literally means the ‘Place Touched by Morning Sunbeams’. Hoan Kiem Lake is the local point of the city and the source of many legends.

45 minutes Cyclo Tour through the Old Quarter: Also known as the 36 streets, this bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Originally each of the street names was related to the products being sold there. It’s a great place to explore on foot with numerous photo opportunities.
 
Before back to your hotel, we will enjoy The water puppet show at Thang Long theatre - a traditional performance of Vietnamese.  The tour finishes at your hotel around 17:00.
 
Day 03

Hanoi - Hoa Lu - Trang An

08.00: Asia Top Travel's tour expert picks you up at your hotel and travel to Hoa Lu. Along the way, stop-over for photos and refreshment while enjoying rural stunning scenery. Arrive in Hoa Lu which is the former capital of Vietnam (968 – 1009) under Dinh and Le dynasties. Visit Dinh, Le temples and surroundings. 
 
Lunch at a local restaurant.
 
After lunch, take an amazing boat trip to visit Trang An grottoes which is a gathering of 31 valleys, 50 cross-water caves, and home to 600 kinds of flora and over 200 kinds of fauna, many of them in the Red Book of Vietnam. While rowing through Trang An grotto in the quiet, fresh air of the highlands, with only the sound of birds and the oars stirring the clear water and surrounded by magnificent forested mountains upon which graze white goats, visitors enjoy a heaven on earth. 

Leave Trang An and drive back to Hanoi. You will reach your hotel around 18:30.
Day 04

Hanoi - Halong Bay (a sample itinerary)

09.00 AM: You will be picked up from the hotel and transfer to Halong Bay through the new highway road.

12:00 – 12:30: At Tuan Chau International Marina, a tender boat will take you to our Halong Phoenix Cruiser. A refreshing welcome drink is served and you can check into your cabin.

13:00: When you are putting all of your stuffs into your cabin, our boat starts gliding out to the centre of the World Heritage Site. Your lunch, at the boat’s restaurant, is would be served with fresh local seafood, but vegetable menu is always available at your request. From the marina area, our cruiser passes by Dog Head and Swan Islands, Ba Hang Floating villages (with floating houses), Incense Burner then Thumb Islands before reaching to Luon cave area for kayaking.

14:30 – 15:00: We have time to gear up for one hour kayaking around Luon cave area. Our guide will show you some basic safety guidelines and techniques to paddle before helping you to sit on our brand new sit-on-top kayaks. After that our boat will help you visit the Titop Island one hour for swimming, sun-bathing or getting a panoramic view on island peak.

17:00: As the sun sets over the bay, we head back to our cruise and relax. Coffee, tea and fruits will be available on the sundeck or you can order your favorite drink while our boat cruises to the night’s anchorage area.

19:00: Dinner will be served with local seafood. After dinner you may choose to enjoy drinks from the bar or top deck or experience squid fishing before retiring.
Day 05

Halong Bay - Hanoi - Fly to Hue (a sample itinerary)

07:00 – 07:45: Enjoy the morning view of the beautiful landscape with a cup of coffee or tea. Have breakfast in the fresh air.

08:00 – 09:00: You will visit the impressive Cave of Halong Bay – Surprising Cave (Sửng Sốt) with your tour guide, a truly awesome and amazing cave to experience.

10:00: Check out of your cabin and settle your bill as our boat begins cruising back to the harbor. Experience more views of Halong Bay such as Fighting Cocks Island (Symbol of Halong Bay), Incense Burner and Stone Dogs Islands.

10:20: A cooking demonstration onboard shows you how to make authentic Vietnamese Spring rolls. You will learn about the recipes and techniques that create this popular dish of Vietnamese people.

10:45: Lunch is served on board during cruising towards the harbor.

11:20: Depart the Halong Phoenix Cruiser and travel by tender boat to Tuan Chau Marina Port where you take a private transfer for transfer straight from Ha Long to Noi Bai Airport. Upon arrival, check in your flight to Hue.

Welcome to Hue! Asia Top Travel's guide picks you up from Phu Bai Airport and get transferred to the hotel by a private vehicle. The rest of day you are free and easy on your own. Overnight in Hue.
 
Day 06

Hue City tour

Visit all the highlights of Hue City on a guided tour

08:00: In the morning, your private driver and guide meet you at your hotel then transfer you to the ancient Thien Mu pagoda, a special cultural and historical site preserving a legendary tale about the Heaven Fairy Lady since Nguyen Dynasty.
 
Continue to drive to Hue Citadel. Here, walk around and take a look into the special feudal relics of immense architectural and cultural values.
 
Have lunch at a nice restaurant in Hue.
 
Afternoon, you will visit the tomb and monument of King Tu Duc, located in a very beautiful area. This is an opportunity to learn more about Nguyen Kings and to enjoy the spectacular landscape.
 
Then we visit Conical hat village. You can see and learn how the locals make the conical hat (non la). (Non la- traditional indispensable accessory expressing the hidden charm and simplicity of women).Conclude your day at Incense stick making village: Observe how locals make sandalwood and cinnamon incense.
 
17:00: Back to your hotel. Overnight in Hue.
Day 07

Hue - Hoi An - Thanh Ha pottery village

08:00: After checking out your hotel in Hue, head to Hoi An through the mighty Hai Van Pass with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and famous Lang Co fishing village.
 
Enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200- year old Tan Ky ancestral house and the Japanese Bridge. Hoi An developed most of its uniquely eclectic townscape between the 16th and 19th centuries. During most of this time Hoi An was a thriving international commercial port for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab merchants. Over the years, many elements of these diverse architectural styles blended harmoniously with indigenous Vietnam features. Hoi An was relatively untouched by the Vietnam War, so the old world charm is stil in.
 
After lunch at a nice restaurant in Hoi An, you will enjoy a short boat ride to Thanh Ha pottery village which has a long historical legacy and it used to play an important role in the development of Hoi An ancient town. It’s better to head straight to the narrow lanes behind the village tourist park to find the families busy churning out pots, sculptures, roof tiles and cute handcrafted whistles shaped like animals.
 
17:00: Return to your hotel. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 08

Hoi An - Cam Thanh coconut village - Tra Que vegetable village

08:00: After being collected from your hotel, a short bicycle competency test will be given. For those uncomfortable with a pushbike, then other methods of transport can be arranged. The tour starts by cycling along level ground to the Thu Bon River to visit a local fishing village.
 
Ride along country lanes at a peaceful pace viewing local life and pause to see farmers toiling in their rice fields using centuries of farming practices. Peddle your way through palm forests, across bridges, fields of water buffalo.

9:00: Take a short break in a local family at Cam Thanh Village before enjoying 1.5 hours ride on Traditional Basket Boat (round boat) in the Water Coconut Palm Forest. Learn how to sail the basket boat and spend your time to catch fishes and “purple crabs” in the Canal.
 
10:30:  Continue to drive to Tra Que Organic Vegetable Village where a large variety of vegetable are produced for the local community. At the village, you will be shown the environmentally sustainable practices which the local villagers have used for centuries and is still being used extensively today.
 
11:30: Visit a local family and after a short, informative and fun cooking lesson, we sit down for a delicious lunch. Return to your hotel, the rest of day is your leisure time.
 
Estimated duration: Biking from the town to Cam Thanh village (about 5 km). From Cam Thanh to Tra Que village (about 7 km). We will arrange a car in case you are tired and do not want to ride a bike from Cam Thanh to Tra Que village.
Day 09

Day 10

Hoi An - Da Nang - Fly to Ho Chi Minh

Today our driver (no guide) will transfer you to Da Nang airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh city.

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, you will be picked up and escorted to hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free at leisure.
Day 11

Cu Chi tunnels - Ho Chi Minh City tour

Today is your exploration of amazing underground tunnels - Cu Chi and the highlights of Ho Chi Minh city

08:00: Departure for a drive through pleasant countryside before arriving at Cu Chi tunnel.

Spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels where the Vietnamese could escape bombings, hide from enemy, and mount surprise attacks. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers.

After a lunch in Cu Chi, head back to Saigon.

Start your half day city tour by looking at the Notre Dame Cathedral built between 1877 and 1883. This is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Nearby is the Old Post Office that is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Move on to see the Reunification Palace, one of the most important buildings in the city. Here on April 30th 1975 the ‘American War’ officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. After that, we continue to visit War Remnants Museum (American War Crimes), a poignant display of the futility of war.

Depending on the timing, have a look on a wide selection of goods at Ben Thanh Market.

17:00: Transfer back to your hotel.
Day 12

Ho Chi Minh City - Ben Tre in Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City

08:00: Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and bring you to the “Capital of Coconut" – Ben Tre.
 
On arrival in Hung vương Pier. Boating on Ben Tre river – one of tributaries of Mekong river- is along mangrove tree from town to country. Witness lively activities in morning as fishing, coconut cargo boats carrying on river. Stop at traditional brickwork to see how to make bricks by hand.
 
Turn on Cai Son canal winding through coconut jungle, visit coconut workshop, have a look stages of coconut processing from husk off, prize out to peel out by hand. Go on small waterway and stop at local house to see feeding bee, enjoy honey tea. Walking along canal to coconut candy workshop, have a look them making candy by hand, try some sweet, enjoy some fruits and listen to local music as well. Go on by boat, and walk to farmer house who making sleepmats.
 
Drive tuktuk through coconut grove, vegetable plains…Keep going by row boat on shady palm tree canal and stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Boating back Hùng vương pier by motorboat.
 
Transfer to Ho Chi Minh city. Arrive to your hotel around 17:00
Day 13

Ho Chi Minh City - Fly to Siem Reap

Day 14

Angkor Temple Tour

09:00: Start your sightseeing tour of Angkor with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone.
 
Visit the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. Stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple.
 
The jungle covering the temple of Ta Prohm is an incredible sight to see. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man's creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature.
 
Admire a magical sunset at Bakheng Hill. Go back to your hotel around 18:30. Dinner is on your own. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 15

Siem Reap - Banteay Srei - Preah Khan - Neak Pean - Som

08:30: After a breakfast at the hotel, head out of town on a newly paved road to the intricately carved and well preserved temple of Banteay Srei. Along the way stop at the Preah Dark village and visit the Banteay Samre Temple adorned with impressive relief’s depicting scenes of Vishunu as well as Krishna legends.
 
Then continue the grand circuit with Preah Khan, Neak Pean and Ta Som. Transfer back to your hotel around 16:00.
Day 16

Siem Reap - Tonle Sap Lake - Fly Luang Prabang

Day 17

Luang Prabang City Tour - Kuang Si waterfalls

08:30: After breakfast, meet Asia Top Travel's tour guide and we drive to visit National museum. After that you will move to visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai. Continue the exploration to visit Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Sene, visit Wat Xieng Mouane. Lunch is on your own cost. 
 
In the afternoon, we drive out of town 30 km to the beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls, where you can swim, relax, soft trek to the top of the fall. On return short stop at Black Hmong Village, where hill tribe hand-made handicraft as souvenirs for visitors pass by. Arrive in the town, we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore street night market, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Return to your hotel around 18:00. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 18

Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Caves

As an optional, today you may want to get up early (around 04:30am) to participate in an arm-giving, hundreds of monks walking along side walk to collect rice and food from laymen. We then visit a fresh morning market at Prakham village to see local lives.

09:00: After breakfast, Asia Top Travel's expert meets you at the hotel and you will enjoy a boat ride upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai, where they make the distillation of local rice wine.

On return, we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong, well known for its hand weaving. Lunch and dinner are on your own cost. Back to your hotel around 15:30 - 16:00. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 19

Luang Prabang - Fly To Bangkok

Day 20

Bangkok Sightseeing Full Day

Enjoy a full day trip in Bangkok visit the floating market and the Royal Grand Palace

06:30: Pick-up at your hotel for a visit of DamnoenSaduak floating market. A leisurely morning drive true the bustling metropolis of Bangkok and the scenic country side going towards the south for about few kilometers, you will come to DamnoenSaduak, where is colorful floating market in Thailand were you can find all kinds of farm product sold in their colorful flat bottom boats.
 
In the afternoon, visit Royal Grand Palace. This is the perfect introduction to Thailand, the Buddhist faith, regal splendor and traditional, though no longer the royal residence. It remains the symbol of the kingdom. You'll visit the key attractions around The Grand Palace including Wat Phra Kaew Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Coronation Throne Hall, Royal Reception Hall, Royal Funeral Hall, the Golden Chedi and the Royal Pantheon. Return to your hotel around 17:00. Overnight in Bangkok
Day 21

Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok

The first place you visit is Bang Pa In Summer Palace, one of the most beautiful Summer Palace of Thailand. Next place is Wat Phra Si Sanphet, one of the most photographed temples in Ayuthaya. Continue to visit Wat Phra Mahathat, Wat Mongkhon Bophit, and Wat Ratburana. They are all beautiful.
 
Follow this by a visit of Wat Yai Chaimongkhol where you have a chance to sacred one of the biggest Reclining Buddha Image as well as the ruins of the old Royal Grand Palace and Temples. Then transfer back to Bangkok around 17:00. The rest of the da, you are free at leisure. Overnight in Bangkok.
