Day 01

Vientiane

Meet your guide at Vientiane International Airport and explore the wonderful capital city of Laos

Welcome to Vientiane! Arrival at Vientiane airport, and after customs and immigration formalities, Asia Top Travel's tour expert will personally meet you and transfer you to the downtown hotel for check-in.

Enjoy a city tour starting with Wat Sisaket and its thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Visit Wat Simuang and Wat Prakeo, the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha, which today is situated in Bangkok.

There are many excellent restaurants in Vientiane, and you will easily find something to suit your taste (not included).

Visit the huge golden That Luang monument, respected by all Lao citizens as holy pagoda. Vientiane's own Victory Monument will remind you the "Arc de Triomphe". This was built at the end of the Indochina wars with money rumoured to be American, and earmarked for the airport’s new runway. Thus the departing Americans dubbed this monument the vertical runway! Have a look at the lovely arches inside the monument.

This evenning you can look forward to a dinner at a popular Vientiane’s eatery.
Day 02

Vientiane - Luang Prabang

Explore the remote villages in the countryside

Leave this wonderful town after taking your breakfast, for a journey northbound on route no. 13.

Admire the breathtaking scenery as you pass through spectacular countryside towards the mountainous region. Stop along the way at Vang Xang, a famous archeological site dating back to the 11th century.

Travel via Vang Vieng to explore Tham Jung Cave before continuing your trip to Luang Prabang. You will be able to take a few photo stops at some small hill tribe villages. Each hill tribe village in Laos has different vibes, some are more prosperous than others but all have plenty of life. The Muang Xieng Nguen village is your next stop. Immerse yourself in the local lifestyle prior to reaching Luang Prabang. Arriving at Luang Prabang, enjoy the rest of the day on your own.
Day 03

Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfalls

Continue your cultural experience in Luang Prabang and discover the beauty of Kuang Si Waterfalls

Today set off your exploration with a visit to the Royal Palace also known as the National Museum to learn more about the long-lasting history and culture of the region.
 
Afterwards, pay a visit to Wat Mai, a beautiful temple located nearby Royal Palace and built in the 18th century. It is the largest and most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang.
 
Head to Kuang Si Falls a stunning turquoise waterfall. On the way, you will pass through rice fields and beautiful small villages dotted along country road. Make a stop in some of the villages. Take a swim to refresh yourself in one of the many basins.
 
The balance of the day is free at leisure.
Day 04

Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Caves

After more visits in Luang Prabang, head to the Pak Ou Caves by boat

In the morning, go on the Phousi Mount where you also can admire a nice panorama of the city.
 
Enjoy a short drive to visit Vat Xieng Thong or Temple of the Royal City - one of the most important of Lao monasteries and remains a significant monument to the spirit of religion, royalty and traditional art.
 
Then continue to Wat Visoun – an unusual structure which represents the earliest Lao style.
 
Afterwards, transfer to the pier and take a long-tailed boat for an upstream cruise. During the cruise, you will be treated a stunning of nature along the river. From the distance you can see limestone cliffs where the hidden Pak Ou Caves are located. The cave is home to thousands of Buddha statues which make the region a revered one. Take your time to explore numerous images hidden in the cave.
 
Then, make your way back to the city. En-route, stop to visit Ban Xang Hai village to learn more about the making process of the traditional Lao rice whisky. It is a great chance to taste its unique flavor. Move onto Ban Xang Khong village - famous for its wood paper and Lao silk weaving.
 
Return to your hotel to relax.
