Day 01

Hanoi Arrival

Upon arriving in Hanoi, our driver will personally meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is time at leisure.
Day 02

Asia Top Travel's tour guide will welcome you at your hotel and departure for an exciting city tour of Hanoi's significant highlights.
 
In the morning, you will visit:
 - Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is the final resting place of Vietnamese Revolutionary leader President Ho Chi Minh.
- Ba Dinh Square in front of the mausoleum is noteworthy as the site where President Ho Chi Minh declared the independence of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. 
- Presidential Palace was constructed between 1900 - 1906 by French architect Auguste Henri Vildieu, was intended to be Ho Chi Minh’s official residence but he had opted for a traditional Vietnamese stilt-house instead.
- The humble traditional House-on-Stilts where president Ho Chi Minh lived intermittently from 1958 to 1969 is set in a well-tended garden adjacent to a carp-filled pond and has been preserved just as Uncle Ho left it.
- Temple of Literature was originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society place then and now on education.  
 
Lunch will be served at the local restaurant.

In the afetrnoon, visit the Museum of Ethnology widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples. As well as the comprehensive array of exhibits inside, there are also traditional tribal houses reconstructed within the ground.
Discover Ngoc Son Temple ocated on a jade island on the Hoan Kiem Lake, its history dating back to the 13th century. The temple is reached by crossing the The Huc Bridge which literally means the ‘Place Touched by Morning Sunbeams’. The Hoan Kiem Lake is the local point of the city and the source of many legends.
 
Take a 45 minute Cyclo Tour through the Old Quarter also known as the 36 streets. This bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Originally each of the 36 names were related to the products being sold there. It’s a great place to explore on foot with numerous photo opportunities.
 
Attend to a Water Puppet Show at Thang Long Water Puppet Theartre before heading back to your hotel.
Day 03

Hanoi – Private Car to Sapa – Ta Phin

Drive to Sapa and trek the village

In the morning your guide picks you up at the hotel for a transfer to Sapa.
 
Arriving in Sapa, enjoy a lunch.
 
Trek downhill towards Taphin village where you will meet Red Dao and Black Hmong minorities, two largest ethnic groups in Sapa area. Stop by a house to talk with local people to know a bit more about their daily life, their customs and traditions.
 
Back to town in the late afternoon and free time.
Day 04

Lao Chai – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai

The day is devoted to a beautiful hike through the breathtaking scenery of Sapa valley. Start by the road descending in the wake of the street Cau May (6 km). En route, admire the rice terraces hidden behind mist of the morning, a truly awe-inspiring sight. Follow a small track and cross Muong Hoa River and well tended rice terraces to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai. Continue through the colorful rice terraces to reach the village of Ta Van Giay. Trekking along the Muong Hoa River, cross a small suspension bridge, roughly 2km from the settlement. Here discover a fascinating collection of rock carvings.

Lunch in a home in the village.

The walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. After resting nearby a waterfall to refresh, start to climb uphill to a road where the car is ready for your journey back to Sapa. 
 
Approx.: 1 hour driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Day 05

Fanxipan Peak – Private Car Back Hanoi

Transfer to Fansipan Cable Station for an amazing trip to the Indochina Roof

Enjoy a cable car ride to Fanxipan Peak - reach the Indochina Roof, 3143m above the sea level. Enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful landscapes from the high.

Head back to Hanoi (6 hour drive on the highway), arrival on the evening.
Day 06

Hanoi – Halong Bay

Drive to Halong Bay and enjoy activities on cruise

Departure for Halong Bay through the scenic countryside. The world heritage site Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights.

Heading out of the town embark on a cruise for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay.

Seafood lunch served while cruising through the limestone karsts formations.

Explore the Surprising Sung Sot cave which still reserves much of the amazing original stalactites and stalagmites.
Day 07

Halong Bay - Fly To Hue

After cruise's acitivity, take a flight to Hue

Wake up in the morning to the calming sound of the waves crashing on the nearby islands drinking a coffee and watch the world going by in the bay. Sitting on the upper deck and enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the bay

Brunch is served while cruising back.
 
Head back to the wharf of Nga Ba Bac Ninh where you will meet your driver and guide for your transfer to the airprot. Fly to Hue.
 
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Hue.
Day 08

Hue City Tour

Discover Hue Ancient city

Take a boat trip to Thien Mu pagoda also known as heavenly lady pagoda, one of the best loved architectural pagodas in Vietnam considered by many as the unofficial symbol of Hue. It is an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601. Continue to the ancient Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. Also visit King Tu Duc mausoleum, a picturesque complex including his tomb and palace that emperor Tu Duc ordered the construction by himself when he was still alive.
 
Vegetarian lunch served by the nuns in a pagoda for a fascinating insight into the life of religious people in the area.
 
Next stop is Minh Mang tomb located 12 km outside of Hue. the Tomb of Minh Mang is part of a large complex that sits on the west bank of the Perfume River and includes a summer home and lake. Photographers will love the scenic views and lush landscapes, while meditative sorts will appreciate the well-kept grounds and tranquil setting.
 
Before heading back to your hotel stroll around Dong Ba Market with your guide. The stalls are teeming with color and a it's great place to catch a glimpse of everyday life.
Day 09

Hue – Danang – Hoian City Tour

Drive to Hoi An via Da Nang city

In the morning, transfer to Hoian by crossing Hai Van pass. En route, photo stop at Lang Co beach, visit of Cham Museum and Marble stone carving workshop.

Upon arrival in Hoian, enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200 - year old Tan Ky ancestral house and the Japanese Bridge.

Back to your hotel late afternoon.
The rest of day is free at leisure.
Day 10

Hoian – Cam Thanh Coconut Village – Cooking Class At Tra Que Herb Village

Start cycling along Thu Bon River to visit a local fishing village. Ride on country lanes at a peaceful pace viewing local life and pause to see farmers toiling in their rice fields using centuries of farming practices. Peddle your way through palm forests, across bridges, fields of water buffalo, etc.

Meet a local family at Cam Thanh Village before enjoying a 1.5 hour ride on a traditional Basket Boat (round boat) in the Water Coconut Palm Forest. Learn how to sail the basket boat and try to catch fishes and purple crabs in the Canal.

Continue to Tra Que Organic Vegetable Village where a large variety of vegetable are produced for the local community. At the village, you will be shown the environmentally sustainable practices which the local villagers have used for centuries and is still being used extensively today.

Meet a local family and after a short and fun cooking lesson, sit down for a delicious lunch.

Day 11

Da Nang – Fly To Ho Chi Minh – City Tour

Fly to Ho Chi Minh and visit the city. Enjoy a dinner on a river cruise

Free morning and transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon arrival, transfer to the city center for guided tour including the Central Post Office, a fine example of French architecture and Vietnam's largest post office. Take a short sightseeing at the People’s Committee Hall. Amidst the French colonial buildings, stumble upon the Opera House. Continue your tour visiting the War Remnants Museum (Museum of American War Crimes), a poignant display about the futility of war. Visit the Reunification Palace, residence of the President of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975.
 
Dinner on a river cruise.
Cruise along Saigon River to admire the city lights and panoramic view of the city and of course.

Back to the hotel on the evenning.
Day 12

Ho Chi Minh – Fly To Yangon – City Tour

Fly to Yangon and visit the city

Early transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon.

Meet Asia Top Travel tour guide at Yangon International Airport and transfer to the hotel.
The sightseeing tour includes the Chauk Htat Gyi, a huge reclining Buddha image followed by a photo stop at Karaweik Hall, a royal floating barge. Conclude the tour with a visit of the golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda rised 98 meters above its base and covered with 60 tons of pure gold.
Day 13

Yangoon – Bagan

Take a flight to Bagan and visit the town

Transfer to Yangon Airport for a domestic flight to Bagan.
 
Start your guided tour of Bagan with the busy local market. Continue with visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoda and much more.
 
Afternoon visit of a lacquer craftsmen’s workshop in nearby Myinkaba village. Visit of Manuha Temple, built in Mon style in 1059; Nanbaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument said to have been the palace of King Manuha; and Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi Temple, noted for its ancient mural paintings.
Day 14

Bagan

Enjoy a full day exploration of Bagan with a range of sites, history, culture and local lifestyles off the beaten track

Begin your day with a visit to an elevated temple, from where you have a spectacular view over the surrounding plains. Visit Myinkaba Village and Gubyaukgyi temple, favorable for its beautiful mural paintings on its inner walls and well-preserved plaster carvings on its exterior. The close located Manuha temple, one nice Buddha statues and stone work are a visit worth. Continue your way to Tu Yin Taung, a hilltop stupa in the eastern part of the main Archaeological Park. As you approach the temple you will be greeted by 500 monk statues which line the road.
 
Head to Lawka Nandar to embark on a private boat. Your eyes will be satisfied with fabulous scenes of life on the water throughout the Irrawaddy river: fishermen, local ferry boats, riverside villages and Bagan temples. Stretch your legs at Sae Lan village, a typical riverside village. Sail to Kyauk Gu U Min on the eastern side of the river, from where you walk to a beautiful temple.
 
Cruise back to Bagan (around 1 hour). Transfer back to your hotel.
 
Day 15

Bagan – Mount Popa – Mandalay

Proceed on a scenic overland journey to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano with its shrine dedicated to animist spirits, known as “Nats”. Climb the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the volcanic plug.

Continue by road and head to Mandalay, the former capital of Myanmar.
Day 16

Mandalay – Amarapura – Mandalay

Head to Amarapura, visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study. Continue to the 200 year-old U Bein teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital. Visit of Bagaya Monastery, with a superb collection of Buddha statues.

On the way back to Mandalay, stop at a traditional hand-weaving silk workshop.
 
The afternoon sightseeing tour includes Mahamuni Pagoda with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves. Visit of Gold Leaf Making Workshop and Tapestry Workshop. Discover Shwe Inbin, one of the most outstanding monasteries in the country; Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung or Golden Palace Monastery, a superb example of a traditional wooden building; and Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world’s largest book consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Watch the sunset on the Mandalay Hill.
Day 17

Mandalay – Mingun – Ava – Mandalay

In the morning, transfer to the jetty and board on a private chartered boat for a cruise on the Irrawaddy River towards the former capital of Mingun. After a 45-minute cruise, arrive in Mingun, famous for its huge unfinished pagoda also home to the Mingun Bell, considered as the world’s largest uncracked ringing bell. Also visit the beautiful white Hsinbyume Pagoda
 
Excursion to the former royal capital of Inwa (Ava), reached by a short boat trip. Visits by horse-drawn carriage to Nanmyint Watch Tower, the remains of the palace building nicknamed "leaning tower of Ava", Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery, built of brick and stucco and Bargayar Monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts.
Day 18

Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Inle Lake

Take a flight to Heho and visit the town

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho.
 
Continue by car and enjoy a scenic drive to Pindaya through the picturesque countryside of Shan State. Visit Pindaya’s limestone cave with its maze of chambers displaying more than 8,000 Buddha statues. Stop at local handicraft workshops producing Shan paper and traditional umbrellas.
 
Continue the trip to Inle Lake, one of Myanmar's best-known sights. The Intha people, a tribe of Mon descent, inhabit the lakeshores and floating villages.
Day 19

Inle Lake – Indein Village

Enjoy the excursion to Indein village

Visit Indein in the south of the lake by motor boat. After a walk around the village, passing a local school, take the covered stairway to the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area where ancient stupas are partly covered by vegetation. Admire a magnificent view over the lake.
Day 20

Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon

In the morning, a full day tour of Inle Lake by boat includes a chance to see the leg-rowing fishermen and the floating gardens. Visit the floating village of Ywama, the lake’s downtown where a floating market is held every five days. The tour also includes a visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and the jumping cat monastery, with beautiful antique Buddha statues.
 
Continue sailing the lake and in the afternoon, transfer to Heho Airport for the flight back to Yangon.

Yangon – Departure

Say goodbye to our team at Yangon Airport.

In the morning, visit of Botahtaung Pagoda with its amazing relic chamber including a million dollar worth Jem stone.
 
Free time to explore the colonial city center with China town.

Eat as you go, trying seasonal fruits and sampling a tasty French-inspired snack from a street cart. Try Hanoi Bia Hoi - Hanoi Draught Beer at a fascinating corner of the old quarter. Walking through the maze of bustling streets that make up Hanoi’s Old Quarter, tempt your tastebuds with the famed Hanoi dish Banh Cuon at a local eatery. Watch in awe as the skilled chefs demonstrate for you how this tasty dish is put together. Continuing into the atmospheric heart of the Old Quarter, wander past street stalls and quiet residential lanes where you can observe local life that has changed little since Hanoi was founded over 1000 years ago.

Day 10: For those uncomfortable with a pushbike, other methods of transport can be arranged.

Day 15 - Optional morning balloon over Bagan:
With "Balloons Over Bagan’ you get a magnificent birds-eye view of thousand year-old pagodas, temples and the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. The champagne flights at sunrise last just under an hour and take off daily from October through March. The balloon is guided by gentle winds not exceeding 24 km/h. 8 passengers max. plus a pilot fit into the balloon’s basket.
