Day 01

Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Hanoi!

Upon arriving in Hanoi, Asia Top Travel's guide will personally meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is time at leisure.
 
Free time ideas: if you arrive in Hanoi early in the day, we recommend you to walk around Hanoi old Quarter to have the first sight of this friendly city before discovering it in detail in the next day with the guidance of your private tour guide with full day city tour.
Day 02

Hanoi City Tour

Asia Top Travel's tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby, departing for an exciting city tour of Hanoi's significant highlights.
You will visit:
Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is the final resting place of Vietnamese Revolutionary leader President Ho Chi Minh (It is closed on Monday and Friday). 
Ba Dinh Square in front of the mausoleum is noteworthy as the site where President Ho Chi Minh declared the independence of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. 
Presidential Palace was constructed between 1900 - 1906 by French architect Auguste Henri Vildieu, was intended to be Ho Chi Minh’s official residence but he had opted for a traditional Vietnamese stilt-house instead. 
- The humble traditional House-on-Stilts where president Ho Chi Minh lived intermittently from 1958 to 1969 is set in a well-tended garden adjacent to a carp-filled pond and has been preserved just as Uncle Ho left it. 
Temple of Literature was originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society place then and now on education.  

Lunch will be served at alocal restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Museum of Ethnology widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples. As well as the comprehensive array of exhibits inside, there are also traditional tribal houses reconstructed within the ground.

Ngoc Son Temple
is located on a jade island on the Hoan Kiem Lake, its history dating back to the 13th century. The temple is reached by crossing The Huc Bridge which literally means the ‘Place Touched by Morning Sunbeams’. The Hoan Kiem Lake is the focal point of the city and the source of many legends.

A 45 minutes - Cyclo Tour
 take you through the Old Quarter that is also known as the 36 streets. This bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Originally each of the 36s names’ was related to the products being sold there. It’s a great place to explore on foot with numerous photo opportunities.

Water Puppet Show,
before heading back to your hotel, attend to a traditional art performance at Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre.
Day 03

Hanoi - Halong Bay

Enjoy the beautiful landscape in Halong bay and Bai Tu Long!

In the morning, departure for Halong Bay – designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site since 1994. Travelling through the scenic fertile Red River Delta countryside.

Arrival in Ha Long Bay by noon. The natural world heritage site Halong Bay is truly one of the most impressive scenery that should not be missed if someone ever comes to the north. Upon arrival, embark on a Chinese style junk for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay. This exciting hour’s cruise passing by the evocatively shaped islets will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands and islets rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water.

Enjoy a seafood lunch while you are cruising through the bay. Here the limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches. Explore the Surprising Sung Sot cave reserving amazing stalactites and stalagmites. In summer time, there is always some chance to leisurely swim in a secluded cove of the bay. Dinner will be served on board.
Day 04

Halong - Hanoi - Da Nang - Hoi An

Say goodbye to Halong and fly to Hoi An

Wake up in the morning towiththe calming sound of the waves crashing on the nearby islands. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and relax. Sitting on the upper deck, admire the breathtaking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the bay. The quiet is almost eerie, you can hear birds singing, cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against the boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze. Then explore Luon cave.

The boat starts cruising back while a brunch buffet is served. Arrival at the harbor by noon, transfer to the aiport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival in Da Nang, transfer to your hotel in Hoian for the overnight. 
Day 05

Hoi An - Cam Thanh Coconut Village - Tra Que Herb Village

The day begins by cycling along level ground to the Thu Bon River to visit a local fishing village. Ride along country lanes at a peaceful pace viewing local life and pause to see farmers toiling in their rice fields using centuries of farming practices. Peddle your way through palm forests, across bridges, fields of water buffalo, etc.
 
Take a short break in a local family at Cam Thanh Village before enjoying 1.5 hours ride on traditional Basket Boat (round boat) in the Water Coconut Palm Forest. Learn how to sail the basket boat and try to catch fishes and “purple crabs” in the Canal. 
 
Continue to drive to Tra Que Organic Vegetable Village where a large variety of vegetables are produced for the local community. At the village, you will be shown the environmentally sustainable practices which the local villagers have used for centuries and is still being used extensively today. 
 
Meet a local family and after a short, informative and fun cooking lesson, sit down for a delicious lunch.
 
Head back to Hoi An for a walking tour around this enchanting port town. Follow the narrow lanes lined with centuries-old houses influenced by Chinese, Japanese, French and European architectures, and visit its numerous places of interest: the 400-year old Japanese Covered Bridge, the Phuc Kien Assembly Halls, the local fish market. Around the town we will see numerous art galleries and tailor shops, and you can even get some made-to-order clothes if you like.
Day 06

Hoian - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City

Say goodbye to Hoi An and fly to Ho Chi Minh City

Breakfast is served at your hotel. Our driver and guide will transfer you to Da Nang airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh city.

Upon arrival, your tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to a local restaurant before doing a half day city tour.

Start by looking at  the Old Post Office that is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office. Then, move on to see the Reunification Palace. This is one of the most important buildings in the city. Here on April 30th 1975 the ‘American War’ officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. Continue with a visit to the War Remnants Museum(Museum of American War Crimes), this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Before finishing our tour, if the time is permitted, there is a wide selection of goods at Ben Thanh Market to see. The tour finishes late afternoon.
