Top Things To Do In Bangkok

Bangkok is a buzzing city of contrasts. It features ancient gleaming temples, magnificent palaces and traditional markets, but also, high rise buildings and a famous nightlife. Bangkok is often considered as a jam-packed concrete jungle but you can get away from the hustle and bustle in green spaces and by walking near the canals.

1. Visit the Buddhist temples

Wat Traimit - Temple of the Golden Buddha
Sitting serenely atop a pedestal in Bangkok’s Wat Traimit Witthayaram is what is said to be the world’s largest solid-gold Buddha image. The dimensions of the ‘Phra Sukhothai Traimit’ statue are impressive enough – more than 3 metres tall and weighing in at over 5 tons

Golden Buddha

Wat Pho
Wat Po is famous for its Reclining Buddha, where the blind may be trained to become masseuses. Then visit a site the Thai people consider the most sacred in the Kingdom: The Royal Grand Palace.

Wat Arun
The Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), is recognizable from its famous silhouette. The local story goes that the shards of pottery decorating its 79 m tall spire came from a nearby shipwreck 100 years ago.

2. Visit he Grand Palace and Wat Prakaew
This is one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Thai court, with several Halls in same compound. Next to it is the Temple of the sacred Emerald Buddha.

3. Explore the floating market
Damnoen Saduak is the most famous. Floating markets are always a good chance for visitors to take amazing pictures of the boats full of fruits and other local products.

4. Cruise along the river
Explore the Chao Phraya River’s edge onboard a local style "Long Tail Boat" and spend a few hours to enjoy the old canals of the Thonburi side of Bangkok, where an older lifestyle still prevails.
