Danang airport is the principal point of arrival in central Vietnam. Many places around are worth the visit and it is easy to do it from Danang thanks to its central location and the touristic facilities.

One of the most popular thing to see in Danang is the Dragon Bridge located in the city center spits fire and water at night. The pink-painted cathedral is another highlight of Danang. Also, there are some interesting museums to visit in Danang (Ho Chi Minh Museum, Danang Museum, 5th Military Division Museum, Museum of Cham Sculpture, etc). Just outside the town, meet Lady Buddha, a 67 meter statue looking after the fishermen. The Marble Mountains are full of caves and also offers a panoramic view over the sea from the top. You can visit the Marble Mountains on the way to Hoi An for example.


HOI AN (45 minute drive from Danang)

Hoi An is a well-preserved old port town with a charming mix of Chinese, Japanese and French architecture; and colorful houses and shops. You will have many photos opportunities especially at nights with the wonderful lanterns shining in the dark. This is one of the best places to buy exceptional souvenirs in art galleries or tailor shops (clothes and shoes). Many activities are possible in town such as a boat tour on the Thu Bon River, a visit of the highlights (Pagodas, Japanese Bridge…), a bicycle tour, a cooking class or simply enjoy a Vietnamese coffee in a coffee shop.

It is a good idea to stay few days in Hoi An to explore the area because the surroundings are full of things to do up to 15 minutes only from the old town.
The Tra Que vegetable village is the perfect place to learn about the traditional Vietnamese agriculture. Hoi An is famous for its artefacts and handicraft workshops like ceramics; potteries from Thanh Ha Pottery Village; lanterns, scarfs, dresses, etc made with silk from a traditional village. Another fun activity to do is a basket boat tour in the Coconut Palm Forest. Near Hoi An, you can simply choose to relax on the beach (Cua Dai Beach and An Bang Beach).


BEACHES around Danang
 

Close to Danang city My Khe Beach and Nam O Beach are good to relax and take a sunbath. Son Tra Peninsula is a good place to escape the hustle and bustle from Danang because it is located in the national park of Son Tra (Monkey) Mountain. Non Nuoc beach is the best surfing spot near Danang.


MY SON (1 hour drive from Danang)

My Son Sanctuary is a UNESCO Heritage Site so it is a site not to be missed if you're travelling to Danang.


HUE (2 hour drive from Danang)

Reach Hue through the famous mountainous Hai Van Pass to enjoy the ocean view on a 21km road.
 

The impressive Hue Citadel is a must-see in the area. You can also take a boat trip on the Perfume River. Thien Mu Pagoda is actually overlooking the Perfume River. It is an important religious site in Vietnam. You can also visit the tombs of the ancients Emperors.


BA NA HILLS (1h30 drive from Danang)

The Golden Bridge recently opened is already famous for its stunning view over the mountains and its particular architecture.
